ErsatzMusika (erstmals in Kärnten/Koroška)
Aufgewachsen sind die Musiker der Band ErsatzMusika in der damaligen Sowjetunion, jenem legendären und mythenumrankten Ort hinter dem eisernen Bühnenvorhang, wo Zigeuner von Filzstiefeln singen, Anbeter des Mammons gebrochene Herzen belächeln und ihre Gläser in Jubelgesängen auf die verlorene Liebe erheben – dort, wo ein Troubadour nichts anderes sein kann, als ein Aussätziger.
Einige der Bandmitglieder sorgten bereits in der Moskauer Untergrundszene für Aufsehen, Anfang der 90er immigrierten sie nach Berlin und bereichern seitdem die russische Diaspora mit verschiedenen Musikprojekten. 2006 gründete die facettenreiche Künstlerin Irina Doubrovskaja, die auch die Songs und Texte für das Debütalbum schrieb, die Band ErsatzMusika.
„Voice Letter“ will sich nicht in eine Schublade zwängen lassen. Es ist weder Dub, noch Urban Folk, World- oder Minimalmusik, aber es klingt eigenartig vertraut – eine Sammlung akustischer Briefe in seltsamer Mundart, ein von Menschen für Menschen gemachter Ersatz für den Klang der Liebe im Informationszeitalter. Kosmopolitentum mit starken regionalen Wurzeln: Person und Musiker Wolfgang Puschnig verkörpern diese essenzielle, oft als bloßes Schlagwort strapazierte Bipolarität in tatsächlich exemplarischer Art und Weise. Was ihn seit Anfang der 80er Jahre nicht nur zu einem Aushängeschild, sondern zu einem Modellfall des europäischen Jazz hat avancieren lassen

The composer singer and flutist Tamara Obrovac from the Croatian city of Pula is one of the most impressive artists on the Croatian music scene, and in the past few years she has become very popular due to the influence of the Istrian folk music that has been the creative force of her works. Istria is a beautiful Croatian region, a North Adriatic peninsula, particular for It’s musical and dialectal tradition. She writes lyrics in a local dialect and sings in an ancient dialect which is not spoken any more – the Istriotic dialect. Her music, completely original and autochthonous, goes beyond time and geographical boundaries, thus becoming a universal artistic message, establishing Tamara Obrovac as an exceptional artist who managed to create her own unique musical expression

With her latest program Bastardista, Célia Mara entered straight ahead in the Top 10 of the European World Music Charts, climbed up the play lists all over Europe and Russia, was ranked various times among the „best of the year, best of the week“ selections in different countries and got amazing reviews in the international music-press, f.i. in songlines/UK or globalrhythm/USA, Various tracks from bastardista were compiled on excellent releases or remixed by well known DJ’s (Kid Loco, Frankie Valentine).…
Célia Mara won as well the 2006 brazilian culture export award “COPA DA CULTURA“, Brazil in Germany.… But that’s not all: with her live project, she performed on various huge festivals in Europe (like the Africa-festival in Würzburg, Zeltival/Karlsruhe, Sabor de Samba/Offenburg or Sunsplash/Wiesen) and on major festivals in Russia (Ethnoland, Moscow). She gave her voice against homophobia and racial discrimination in Berlin’s CSD for 400.000 people, presented her bastardista songs during the carnival in Brazil as well as in exclusive clubs between London, Moscow and Praha. And, highlighting the bastardista live-tour, she performed at the fabulous Vienna Opera house, during the jazzfest vienna, sharing the stage with legendary Omara Portuondo!
Célia Mara simply stands with her music for a borderless society.
That she has been awarded various times already before bastardista (f.e: best world music artist austria) is part of an other story…

Intentional & Random: a festival | Villa For Forest

Villa For Forest, Viktringer Ring 21, 9020 Klagenfurt Join us for an evening of music that explores the boundaries of sound and performance.

Beginning at 18:30, the event will open with a collaborative sound installation Quotidian Reminiscence in the garden of Villa for Forest. The sonic positions of the installation are distributed across the outside space, inviting listeners to roam around and encounter dialogues among eight micro-compositions that capture moments of habitual personal contexts. The installation will remain active throughout the entire event, providing an immersive sonic backdrop to three distinctive concerts. At 19:30, the first concert features a new work by Klagenfurt-based composer Bastien Brännland, alongside Matthew Schlomowitz's Letter Piece #5: Northern Cities, for two players performing music, actions, and text; Alban Berg’s 4 Stücke, Op. 5, which delves into virtuosic atonality through extended techniques such as flutter-tonguing and extreme dynamics; and John Zorn’s seminal "game piece" Cobra, where performers shape the music in real time through cues and gestures. The 20:30 concert showcases Julius Eastman's minimalist masterpiece Stay On It – a work by a composer whose brilliant contributions were almost completely lost but have recently achieved high acclaim – paired with Peter Ablinger's noise piece Nanophony for soft sounds and loud amplification. The final concert at 21:30 will conclude the evening with an experimental improvisation designed and performed by a quintet of composer-performers, sympathetically agitated by Christopher A. Williams.

From the opening collaborative sound installation to the final improvisation set, Intentional & Random promises a unique journey through sound, intermedia and performance. Whether you're a seasoned experimental music enthusiast or a curious first-time listener, this event offers a unique opportunity to explore the frontiers of musical expression.

Autorenlesung | Literatur- und Dichterkreis Klagenfurt | Villa For Forest

Villa For Forest, Viktringer Ring 21, 9020 Klagenfurt Der Literatur- und Dichterkreis Klagenfurt wurde vor 23 Jahren gegründet und besteht aktuell aus 13 aktiven Mitgliedern. Der Verein dient der Förderung von literarischen Werken, die von den Vereinsmitgliedern selbst geschaffen wurden.
Diese Förderung spiegelt sich insbesondere in monatlichen Vereinsstammtischen, regelmäßigen Lesungen, sowie in einer gemeinsamen Publikation wieder. Eine der Hauptintentionen des Literatur- und Dichterkreises Klagenfurt liegt dabei darin, LiteratInnen einen Austausch mit anderen LiteratInnen zu ermöglichen und sie bei ihren ersten Schritten in der Öffentlichkeit zu unterstützen. Hierbei legt der Verein auch sehr viel Wert darauf, dass das Vereinsleben stets von einer familiären Atmosphäre geprägt wird.
Im Juni 2025 wurde die aktuelle Anthologie „Freude am Schreiben“ im Eigenverlag herausgegeben, in welcher sich besondere Kostproben aller Autorinnen und Autoren finden.
